Jamil Aziz oglu Aliyev

Jamil Aziz oglu Aliyev was born on March 30, 1946 in the family of the famous scientist and public figure Aziz Aliyev in Baku.

In 1968 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after N. Narimanov.

In 1973 he defended his thesis on the topic “Diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer of the lower lip and oral mucosa” in the specialty “oncology” in Baku.

In 1978, at the All-Union Cancer Research Center of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in Moscow, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Plastic surgery for melanoma and skin cancer” in the specialty “oncology” and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences.

In 1987, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR, for effective work in the field of training scientific personnel, he was awarded the academic title of professor in the specialty “oncology”.
Professor K.A. Since 1994, Aliyev has been the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Heads the oncology department of the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after Aliyev. YES. Aliyev is one of the prominent leading experts in the field of diagnosis of tumors of the breast, soft tissues of the head and neck.

YES. Aliyev is one of the founders of the modern school of clinical oncology and diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in Azerbaijan. YES. At present, Aliyev successfully manages the Azerbaijan Scientific School of Oncology, which he created over the course of many years.

YES. Aliyev is the author of over 600 scientific articles, 10 inventions, 18 monographs and textbooks for students. Under his scientific guidance, 8 doctoral degrees in medical sciences and 48 doctoral degrees have been developed and successfully defended.

Aliyev is a full member of the New York Academy of Sciences, a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a full member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences, a full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, a full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, a full member of the International Academy of Sciences of the Turkic World, a full member of the International Academy of Ecoenergy , United States of America, MD. He is an honorary professor at the Anderson Cancer Center, an honorary doctorate from the Royal Hammersmith University Hospital, and a member of many international scientific institutions and public organizations.

In 1980, Academician N.N. Awarded with the Petrov Prize.

In 1996, the name of Professor Jamil Aliyev was included in the “Who’s Who” list among the world’s intellectuals of the Cambridge International Biographical Center of England. included in the biographical collection.
In the same year, K.A. Aliyev was awarded the Y. Mammad Aliyev Prize of the educational society “Bilik” of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
2001 Professor J.A. Aliyev was elected a full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

K.A. Aliyev was awarded the Academician M. Topchubashov Prize (2003), the honorary title “Honored Scientist” of the Republic of Dagestan (2011), the Big Gold Medal “For Services to the Turkic World” (2015).
In 2015, Academician Jamil Aliyev was awarded the Order of N. Pirogov, awarded to the world’s most famous surgeons of the European Academy of Natural Sciences, the title of “Honored Scientist of Europe” and the W. Leibniz medal, as well as the Scientific Award of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, related to the study of oncological problems subclinical pathology of the liver. For his work he was awarded the Academician M. Mirgasimov Prize.
In 2016, by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, he was awarded the Order of Honor for his services in the field of healthcare.
In 2018, by decision of the UN Council for International Awards, he was awarded the honorary title of “Ambassador of Science and Peace”.
By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated March 30, 2021, he was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, I degree.

Since 1990 – General Director of the National Cancer Center ().
As a result of Aliyev’s many years of hard work, today the National Cancer Center is a specialized research institution with a clinical base of 1,500 beds, studying the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of malignant tumors not only in Azerbaijan, but throughout the entire South Caucasus region.
In 2000, he was awarded the title of “Honored Worker of Science”, and in 2006, by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, he was awarded the Order of Glory.

Currently, the National Cancer Center employs 1,290 people. 92% of cancer patients are treated at the National Cancer Center. During the year, about 110 thousand patients are examined here, more than 20 thousand people undergo inpatient treatment.

On the initiative and under the leadership of D.A. Aliyev, in 2006-2012, the National Cancer Center was completely reconstructed and modernized.
Fully modern equipment of the center was carried out on the basis of cooperation agreements with the world famous companies Varian Medical Systems and OrfitIndustries.

Oncoregistry, established at the National Cancer Center, was accepted as a member of the International Cancer Association in 2015.
Academician D.A. Aliyev’s consistent and effective work has made a decisive contribution to bringing the National Cancer Center to the international level. He received his MD from the National Cancer Center in 2015. A memorandum of bilateral cooperation was signed with the Anderson Cancer Center. In 2018, the National Cancer Center signed MoUs with the English University Hospital of Liverpool, the Austrian Medical University, Hacettepe Turkish University and the International Cancer Research Institute. In 2014, the National Cancer Center was awarded the status of an International Consulting and Training Center.
